The Nanling Mountains separate Hunan Province and Guangdong Province. Due to the high altitude, cloud and mist drift through the mountains. Combined with the rich, red soil this moisture helps create an ideal place for growing fine tea

During the Song Dynasty (960-1279AD), a student from Nanling presented his hometown’s tea as special gift to the Emperor. The emperor was impressed and noting a rocky peak of the mountain range curiously looks like a dog head he commanded this tea be named Dog Head!

In tribute to the Emperor this tea has latterly been updated to ‘Dog Head Tribute’
