Matcha tea is revered in Japan.

The tea is in fact so highly prized that it enjoys its very own ceremony and its very own room. The room is called ‘Chashitsu’ and it is from this that we take our name.

An intrinsic and influential part of Japanese tradition, the ceremony ensures Matcha is prepared with due attention and care

We chose this Matcha during a memorable trip to the tea gardens of Japan. This beauty is from Kagoshima Prefecture, in the far south of Japan. Here the temperature is warmer and that leads to richer flavours.

On our visit to Japan we found many farmers producing Matcha. Of the Matcha we tried, we selected this one for you because it is sweet, grassy and unmistakably fresh. It has a light creaminess making it ideal for Matcha smoothies and milkshakes.

This Matcha is the premium plant cultivar and was awarded ‘Ceremonial’ grade.
