Honey Orchid Oolong (Mi Lan Dan Cong) is cultivated in Guangdong Province. The finest Mi Lan is grown high up in the Phoenix Mountains. On Dan’s trip, his friend Zhou took him to the Mountain (see the picture of them clambering up the stone steps!) to meet the farmers and taste a selection of Honey Orchid teas.

After much deliberation (and lots of cups of tea!) we picked this one. At 50% fermented, the leaf is baked more deeply, then twisted gently by hand. It brings a richer and smoother flavour. The garden sits at 1100 metres.

In the cup, the tea is bright and elegant. Honey Orchid produces an amazing clear orange liquor of the very highest quality.

To taste, the layered notes of sweet honey and flower are just astonishing.

Like all of our Oolongs, Honey Orchid leaves will make many cups.
